This open air cafe owned by Dale Hunter and Adam Marshall is packed full of cool Sydney city life, perched on the edge of the water at Elizabeth Bay and few minutes walk from Potts Point – one of Sydney’s hippest inner city suburbs. As you’re looking out over the sparkling blue water, you feel as though you’re a million miles away – yet you’re minutes from the CBD.
They use Vittoria Organic Single Origin beans. The coffee can be good – to eat I had a toasted sourdough sandwich with prosciutto, provolone and spinach – lightly toasted to a golden crunch and full of flavour. The menu has what you’d expect – organic bottled juice, muesli, fruit, yogurt, sandwiches, a couple of salads and also a small selection of muffins, pastries, etc. – all put together with style and care.
The crowd is hip locals, whether it’s mums with babes in the newest pushchairs, the doggie set or thin young things and their black sunnies but the winner in all this mix is the perfect location. Sunny weekends can be very very busy – so Monday to Friday is the time to go.
Bird and Bear Boathouse is one of the new cool Sydney cafes – check it out and experience why this is a cool place in Sydney and why Sydney is the best the place to live.
