LL Wine and Dine- Potts Point

Sydney in the rain – it was quite heavy this Wednesday night.  So we were glad to catch up with some friends for a drink and thought of LL Wine and Dine in Potts Point.  We had been to LL  a few times in its early days when it had a more relaxed, local atmosphere – where you’d just pop in for a drink – it was good then.

At the moment, the pressure to eat in the restaurant is on and I find that quite off putting, but business is business.  But back to Wednesday night, the place is divided into two areas – one, the bar, the other food which is at the back.  There is a up and  down stairs area, the latter is our favourite.

As the night went on, we ordered a starter platter (edamame, chilli peanuts and whitebait) – very salty and oily.  The edamame was a nice balance but that too was a salty.  Three of us had martinis – not the best we have had.  There was very cool live music in the bar, nice touch!!!  The wine list is a mixed bag with some interesting ones – we had some by the glass which were good,  although the first pick of the wines was harsh  - maybe the bottle was open for a too long, ?

All in all L L Wine and Dine, Potts Point lacks a sharpness, freshness, and that special something to make it the one!  It is what it is.
