When Berta first opened over a year ago, we visited it several times and it was always very good. And they did make some of the best martinis in Sydney – we are so happy to report that not much has changed. We stumped up there on Thursday night and the only noticeable difference was the place was comfortably full. In the first year, the line to get in was always a challenge.
Back to Thursday, we thought a martini was in order, and it was still very good – so the evening was off to a good start. The menu is similar in style to before – lots of tasty, small plates you can choose from and share. We had truffle salami with pickles and ricotta salata, also rabbit nuggets with wasabi mascarpone and brussel sprouts – pickled and fried.
It was all good, although we though it seemed a little salty – there are several non meat dishes to choose from. The wine list is all Italian and impressive.
This bar/restaurant did, and still attracts a fashionable, youngish crowd and you still feel that you are in the right place at the right moment. LOVE IT!
